Full job description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • An Active and In Good Standing Wisconsin Funeral Directing and Embalming License
  • Arrange and conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional, organized, and caring manner
  • Care for the deceased respectfully while performing a variety of tasks, which include: transfers of decedents; embalming; dressing; cosmetizing; and casketing.
  • Arrange for and oversee interment or cremation of human remains
  • Perform cremations of human remains
  • Prepare necessary legal paperwork, including contracts, authorizations, death certificates and transit permits
  • Good understanding of computers and standard software including, MS Word, MS Excel, and SVRIS
  • Ability to serve and maintain several families in a given time period
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • High level of empathy and compassion
  • Ability to work well and communicate properly with local parishes, clergy, cemeteries, vendors, etc.
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings according to schedule
  • Valid Wisconsin Drivers License and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to safely and comfortably lift.
